I installed this as predator protection on a chicken coop, only about a 100’ perimeter. It was easy to install and I used a T-post to ground it. I decided to test it out by grabbing ahold of the wire, and to my disappointment I felt almost no shock. I checked the battery and it was fully charged. I was pretty upset that I wasted my money on this piece of junk. I decided find a different ground, so I used a scrap piece of 8’ rebar and drove it 7’ into the ground. I made about 50 wraps with my ground wire to ensure a good connection. I turned it on and then tested it again by grabbing ahold of it. The sound that was produced from my mouth can only be described as a very feminine scream. Not only did it shock the hell out of me, but I no longer fear death as I believe I am now living on borrowed time. Be sure to use a good ground, and I recommend testing with a volt meter.
