I bought this cleaner last year and loved it at first
I bought this cleaner last year and loved it at first. I have the Intex 18 foot above ground pool and was excited to have a cleaner with connections and adapters for this pool. But, like other's who have written reviews here, mine quit moving. I do have an adequate GPH on my sand filter for the cleaner. I rechecked the hose connections and made sure the screen on the cleaner wasn't full. The cleaner would sometime move when I first put it back in the water but after just a few minutes it would stop and not start moving again. I was frustrated and it was nearing the end of pool season so I just took it out and put it away. I got it back out at the beginning of this pool season, reattached all the hoses, put it in the pool and it took off. But, again after about 10 minutes it quit moving and would not start again. I finally took it out yesterday and opened the cleaner. Upon inspection of the inside, I noticed that the motor had a lot of turning movement and the ends where the water shoots out of were not lining up with the outside openings of the cleaner. Since the water ends were not lining up the cleaner could not get the momentum it needed to move around. I then noticed that there is a grey nut on top (outside) of the cleaner where hose D hooks to it. I unscrewed the nut, lined the motor up so the water ends lined up inside the cleaner and then screwed the nut back very tightly. I re-attached hose D and made sure there wasn't too much movement in the motor so the water ends didn't become misaligned again. I hooked it back to my filter (outlet side), put it back in the water and it has been running perfectly all day today. So, it you have tried everything else and your cleaner will not move then try this:
1. Make sure the motor ends where the water shoots out are lined up with the outside ends of the cleaner
2. Make sure the nut on top of the cleaner where hose D attaches is very tight
