Impressive for Light Duty Work
Had it for five months. It’s perfect for occasional yard work.
Pros: Very light; quiet enough to use without ear protection; automatic oiler; no gasoline or gasoline fumes; no gasoline engine maintenance; surprisingly strong and long-lasting battery; fast battery charging; battery can be used in other products by the same manufacturer..
Cons: No chain brake, so chain free-wheels for a second or so after de-powered; less powerful than comparable gasoline-powered saw.
Uses: Light-duty work, such as 2”-6” limbs; work where easy portability is required.
Don’t expect to cut a cord of wood as quickly as with a gasoline-powered monster, or to take down large trees. It’s not for Paul Bunyan types. But for the owner of a wooded lot who needs to clear the occasional downed tree limb, or an arborist who needs a highly portable saw for light duty above-ground work, it’s perfect. (Suggestion: Unless you plan to use the saw for more than 3 hours at a time, don’t buy a backup battery until you try out the saw. You may be happy with a single battery.)
