I picked this detergent after reading quite a bit on the EWG (Environmental Working Group) website. It appeared to have the best compromise of effectiveness and environmental 'friendliness'. Since I don't have any insight as to how the ingredients affect the environment I have to trust the EWG. However, this stuff cleans the laundry very well. And best of all you genuinely get 100 loads per bottle if you have a midsized front loader... economical!
