Replaced my 80$ sephora products!
Warning. Wall of text coming.
So I previously used Stila CC cream ($35ish, recently discontinued) and set with Laura Mercier Mineral Powder ($40ish, online only now).
Since my holy grail products were discontinued and becoming too expensive I decided to try to find a replacement. I went back to Sephora to get a replacement and was disappointed and returned what I got.
Stumbled upon the brand Lumene, saw it had good reviews and decided to try it out, only $14 why not.
I was pretty blown away. I purchased "light" nervously hoping it wouldn't be too light based off previous reviews but I guess I am pastier than I imagined because the light is a perfect color for me. It blends into my skin very well, I apply it with a brush, then even it out with a beauty blender. The application only takes a few minutes and looks amazing. It was important to me that I have a simple, fast, product that gives me a natural look. This really is it.
Probably the most important thing for me is that even after 5 or 6 hours it still looks fresh. Some makeups kind of separate on your skin after your oils work their way out and mix with the product (kind of gives it a camoflauge pattern of makeup in pores and creases sorry not the best description but I think you know what I mean) but this does not!!
I don't even have to set this with a mineral powder because it looks so nice alone.
I'm beyond impressed for a $14 tube, especially with how easy it is to apply.
It really covers acne scar redness well, but doesn't do too much for dark eye circles, but that's not why I bought this. I bought it for redness so in that aspect I am very pleased.
A few things about the photos posted:
1- my camera makes the worst look worse and the best look better. so the before and after is accurate, but remember that.
2- the product on my hand was not rubbed in, it was just what was left on my hand after i applied with a brush. It looks much smoother rubbed in and almost disappears. The main point of that was to show how light the light really is, considering a lot of the negative reviews talk about how it was too light, I thought an actual photo of the cream could help.
3- all that's on my face is the CC cream. No moisturizer or blush or additional product. Only the CC.
So in the end my $14/ounce tube from amazon is replacing $80+ of Sephora products and gives me an equal, if not better, look.
I'm writing such a detailed review because I was SO disappointed my Stila CC cream was discontinued I thought I'd never find such a good anti-redness CC cream....until now!
