It is a really nice water bottle. I use it exactly for that purpose. I have actually gotten three compliments on this thing on how nice it is, which is weird because it is a water bottle. I have never really had a sports top bottle, but at 36 ounces it is light enough to carry around and I don't have to remove a lid every time I want water. I am unsure of exactly how long, but my water stays cold for days. I do find myself drinking a lot more water with this. like I said, the sports top make it easy to sip on all day. Obviously not for cup holders, but that isn't really a worry of mine.
