While I agree with most of the other reviewers that this makes excellent coffee, it is totally unnecessary. After I bought mine, I showed it to my sister and she started laughing at me for spending the money on it. All she does is add a cup of coarse ground coffee to a 1 quart mason jar, add cold water and put it in the fridge overnight. Next morning, she simply uses a $3 mesh strainer like this one Browne Foodservice 9092 Fine Single Mesh Strainer with Wood Handle, 4-Inch ,and strains it into another quart mason jar and stores it in the fridge for use. After she told me that, I tried her method and cannot tell the difference in the coffee produced. So if you want a cool toy, this thing works as advertised, if you're on a budget , go down to the dollar store and buy a mesh strainer...
