Goal Zero products are expensive. You can buy a 100w solar panel for much less than this; see Renology as an example. Have one of their panels and its great, and with the special adapter from Goal Zero it plugs right into my Yeti for charging. So why this one? A number of different reasons; have two yeti's, so can now charge each one at the same time, instead of one at a time. This has a very serious frame and protection for the panels. The connector is specific for hooking up to the Goal Zero products, so you can really use it with anything else - which needs to be considered. the wire is long enough that you keep your device in the shade with the panel in the sun. And the quality of the build is the reason I bought it. They do a seriously good job on building quality items. Let me rephrase that; these are all built in China, but designed at their place in Utah and their quality control is excellent as is their service. AM NOT IMPRESSED WITH THE STAND. It really only allows this to be propped fully open or keep it closed. Was hoping for something that would be more adjustable for keeping optimum angle of the panel to the sun. and it is for that it loses a star. The Renology panel will ultimately go with my camper as it is lighter weight and will be easier to mount on and off the roof. This will stay at home.
