Let me start by saying that our household is full of avid YETI cup users. We own 6-8 of their cup products. At any given time we always have one full of ice and water. And usually another nearby with sweet tea or coffee or someother yummy treat. So this review is written from the standpoint of comparing this Vacuum Insulated Stainless cup to a 30oz Yeti. For appearance sake it is very similar. The Simple Modern is a bit taller and lighter weight and the opening is a touch wider than a YETI. Otherwise they are very similar. I started by filling both cups up with tap water and letting them sit at room temperature for 48 hours. This should make sure that the internal temperature of each cup is the same. Next I put 13 oz of ice in each cup. This filled them up to the top. I then added the same temperature water to each cup to give each cup the same starting point. After 5 hours I noticed a sweat ring around the rim of the simple modern cup. The yeti cup did not have a ring. After 8 hours the yeti cup had 10.6 oz of ice. The simple modern had only 5.1 oz. This experiment was conducted in my kitchen where the temp remains around 76 degrees. All this to say, while not a YETI, this is still a well insulated cup which should keep your drinks nice and cold!! I received this product at a discounted rate in exchange for my HONEST and UNBIASED opinion. That being said, this is a great cup.
