A lot of people said their collars were defective and provided proof with pictures showing it was “not a martingale” collar. And to be fair, this product does not come with any pictures or instructions to really show how to use it the first time so I can see how it can be confusing. So I provided pictures to show HOW to arrange the collar how it’s supposed to be, starting with it right out the packaging. 1st picture: this is an example of what people are showing “defective” and does not work. And they are right. If you use the collar how it looks right there, it would not work... you are using the wrong opening. SO 2nd - Separate the collar where my fingers show. 3rd - NOW put the collar on with the dogs head through the big opening. 4th - the collar arrives on the tightest setting. This picture shows the collar when it has been made more loose. Again, dogs head goes through the large hole, and now you will see how the collar can tighten when the dog pulls. Hopefully this helps some people! It’s really a good and effective collar. I got one from the shelter I found my dog at and he outgrew that one so I needed the next size up.
