I've never had a kitchen scale. I can see how it would be useful for diet or recipe conversions. I, however, am using it for weighing yarn. I crochet, and when I get near the end of a skein and wonder if there's enough to make one more row......I previously didn't want to take a chance of running out mid row. I don't like changing skeins mid row. But now, I can weigh a skein, crochet a row, and weigh it again and I KNOW how much it takes to do a row. Now I can plop that last glob of yarn on the scale and I will know without a doubt whether or not it will last for one more row. ; )
