As a owner of a carpentry company with six shop vacs I feel I am somewhat of a authority on vacuums. I do not understand why 24% of the reviews are negative because this vacuum is the quietest of the six I own and the suction power is very satisfactory considering its size. Some people complain of the ten foot cord length which can be remedied with a six dollar 25 foot extension cord. I get around that problem by buying 16 foot after market hoses for about $ 40.00 dollars. My Fein vacuum came with one and I like moving a hose around rather than the vacuum. I tend to only use bags when I am using my Hepa vacs to pick up nasty stuff like mouse droppings, lead paint scrapings and asbestos as they are expensive when you use vacuums every day. But I have seen five bags for $15.00 dollars that will fit this vac on Amazon which seems reasonable to me. You can buy any foam and cloth filter and cut them to fit with scissors in less than a minute so the idea that you have to buy the exact filter is silly. It pays to think outside the box once in a while.
