I had to write a review because when I was purchasing this, the sizing help that I was looking for on the reviews section was misguided. First, I measured my chest at around 38-39. Some reviews said to get medium for tighter fit but the manufacturer suggests to go a size up if on the higher end of the sizing chart which contradicted the reviews. I went with a size Large as per the size chart and manufacturer recommendation. GOOD choice and let me tell you why. First, this support brace is not suppose to be tight. I was able to adjust this support brace to be skin digging tight, which certainly pulled my shoulders back but it hurt continuously. This device is not a torture device, it's for support. Meaning if you pull your shoulders forward (incorrect posture) it will be uncomfortable which triggers a reminder to pull your shoulder back. By adjusting too tight, your not even allowing your shoulders to move forward which will lead to further complications. And final reason why to go with what the manufacturer suggest is because if you go with a smaller size, I am sure it will fit. If I went with a medium, I have no doubt it will fit BUT putting it on will be difficult (like many reviews here advise) and that is incorrect. It will be difficult because the straps are smaller and will be on your back (like the manufacture picture on Amazon) which your hands can't reach. The directions specifically say "pull the strap from under your armpit", if you went with a size smaller then this would not be possible. Hint for easy on/off: Put this device on from your chest, and adjust straps LOOSELY. Then take off, put on the correct way. Then take straps from under armpit, and pull to comfortable fit. As for product review, the straps are very comfortable. I would describe it as plush feeling. It certainly helps align proper posture. I bought is device because of trapezius tension and posture support. It helps with posture and as for tension relief, it feels great. Stretching out my muscles for sure. Cheers.
