I’ve been using this for probably 10 years now. Back in the day when I was married, my now ex-wife insisted on hiring a cleaning service. The cleaning lady commented that she never had to do much to our toilets because our bowls were the cleanest of her clients. I’ve installed these in all the places I’ve lived because it keeps the bowls clean, it doesn’t harm the parts in the tank (important now that I’m a homeowner again), and there’s really no smell. Sometimes I catch a slight scent of bleach but that’s it. This stuff is the bomb...I guess that’s why it’s called Kaboom! I think some of the reviewers are dropping refill tablets directly into the tank, that’s why they’re complaining about the smell and dissolving parts. Trust me, you do not want to inhale any tablet dust when you’re replacing tablets. There’s a reason they come in such a thick wrapper...they’re potent. I imagine if you dropped them in the tank the house would smell and parts in the tank would corrode.
