This stuff works! Keeps the septic tank balanced
7yrs update (feb 2022). I have been using this for 7yrs (since jan 2015) and I still love it and I still recommend it to my friends and family. My family grew (birth of children) and our septic tank is still running strong. we only pumped our septic tank once every 3-4yrd whereas my neighbors pump theirs every 1-2yrs. orginal review from 2015 below: BLUF: This stuff works! Keeps the septic tank balance especially if you prone to mistreating it. Background: I bought a house in the country for the very first time. Part of living in the country involves having your own septic tank and being responsible for maintaining it. I was so used to living in the city where I can pretty much pour/dump detergent, bleach, old medicine (i know, I know. I'm sorry), grease and old food through the disposers. Anyhow, the bad habits of living off a central sewage system was hard to break. Fast forward to 2 years later when I noticed a foul smell coming out of my bathroom drains (sink, toilet, etc). I called the septic company and had them inspect my systems and they disgusted to discover what they found. My beneficial bacteria that breaks down the solid waste was virtually non-existent. They attribute the poor health of my septic system to me using toilet bleach cleaner/dispenser, laundry detergents and other "normal" day to day habits that I bought with me from the city. The septic company wanted to charged me a little over $1000 to pump out the septic tank, clean it and put in fresh bacteria to bring back the right balance. Needless to say, the $1K was out of my budget and I postponed the service until 6 months later until I can save enough money for the repairs. After the septic company left, I research septic tank treatment and found the Walex bio-Active tank. I used it every month and start using "septic friendly" cleaning detergents and 6 months later when the septic company came back they were impressed with the turn around of my systems. Instead of $1K for draining the entire systems and starting over, they just charged me $200 for basic maintenance (removing the sludge from my tanks.) As you can read, this stuff works. If you find this review helpful then I appreciate a positive feedback. thank you
