This is perfect for my uses. For all those who are having trouble aligning holes. See my pictures. I simply mark where exactly i want a hole punched, then i pop off the "guard" that catches the punched holes and you can see exactly where the hole is being punched. I used an index card and punched a hole. Then, i use that to align the rest of the index cards that i wanted to punch and with the hole catcher OPEN so i can see where the hole is being punched. It's pretty easy once you open the compartment and can see where it is being punched.
