It does the job!
So, this set is far from perfect based on the reviews of other users, but that shouldn't deter you from buying it; Lets get to the pros and cons.
CONS: When using ink that doesn't belong to the set it doesn't feed ink seamlessly.
When using ink that does belong to this set it feeds to much and makes it hard to create proper line variation.
I'm pretty sure you can't fill the converter while it's in one of the pens.
PROS: This set is CHEAP... You get 4 pens, 20 ink cartridges, an instructions manual, a practice notebook, a converter, and a nifty case to carry it around; All for just over 15 dollar.
This is a BEGINNERS SET, the pens do make mistakes but you as a beginner will mess up more than the pens.
The set is friggen cheap!
The instructions manual contains everything you need to write 3 styles of calligraphy.
The pens are really attractive to look at.
The set is portable.
Overall, this set is one of the best ways for an amateur calligraphist to get started, other methods require time to research pens and calligraphy while this set is just grab and go. Of course, there are cons to this set but the pros far outweigh them. Note, all of the pens in this set have italic nibs.
My advice is to get this set and a bottle of ink to go with it. Your best choice would probably be Noodler's black ink, which can be found on amazon. Fill the converter with ink and dip the pen before every use to get it flowing. Noodler's black is an inexpensive ink with a very high quality that works exceptionally well with every quality of paper.
