This is a BRILLIANT idea and just what I was looking for! I am a woman in her mid 30's. I have long, straight, fine hair and live in a very cold, snowy climate. I also work at a university and have to walk 1/4 mile from where I park my car to my building every morning. In the fall and winter that can be very unpleasant first thing in the morning. I usually wear a beanie (hat, tobogan, whatever you call it where you're from), but it makes my hair flat and very staticky for the rest of the day after I take it off in addition to the temporary forehead lines and crazy eyebrows. I have the same issue with headband style earmuffs. They leave a line or dent in my very straight hair that just looks weird. I wanted something easy to put on and take off that would preserve my hair but also protect my ears from the sting and biting winter wind while I walk to and from my car, walk the dog, hang Christmas lights, work outside, go caroling...any number of things. I also go to the gym at 5:30 in the morning (brrrrrrrr) and I have my hair up in a ponytail, so a beanie is out of the question. These things are perfect to throw on in the car and walk in to the gym and are easy to put in my pocket while working out. My ears are VERY VERY sensitive. I wouldn't say they're really large, but they do stick out a bit more than average so they look bigger than they are. Also, even the slightest bit of cold wind (frankly any wind) blowing on/in them gives me a headache. And because they stick out, any hat or band that pins them down to my head starts to give me headaches after a short while too. That's what I love soooo much about these! They are so easy to put on and they stay on my ears really well without pain! To the reviewers who say they start to hurt after a while, I would say that ANYTHING you put on/in/over your ears is going to cause eventual discomfort if you wear it long enough. PERIOD. And these are much more comfortable than most things I've put over my ears! I love the soft material and soft fleecey thinsulate lining that helps cut down on the amount of wind penetration. They snap into place super easily and stay put! If you have really small ears you may need a smaller size so they don't fall off. If these don't work for you it's probably because you have the wrong size! I can wear my hair over them without looking weird or I can put my hair behind my ears and show them off because they're cute and I get lots of compliments on them! I keep them in the cute little drawstring pouch and they either live in my coat pocket or hanging from the coat rack by the door. In terms of warmth, they're really pretty decent! They don't quite stack up to the warmth of a thick beanie or full on ear muffs, but they definitely take the edge off for short stints. I have now worn them in single digit temps and in blowing wind/snow and they did a really good job! In summary, these little things are a godsend for me! While I can't yet recommend them for a full day of skiing/snowboarding/playing in the snow, blizzards, winter storms or for long time wear in very cold (below 0 F), they really are great for most casual purposes, certainly for mine! You can count on people asking you where you got them and getting lots of compliments! I'm so glad I found these! I have already bought a few more pairs to give as gifts. These would make FABULOUS office gifts or stocking stuffers! Thank you Sprigs! I did NOT receive this item free or at a discount. UPDATE: I ordered a pair of the Ear Mitts brand so I could see which I like better and these Ear Bags are definitely my favorites between the two! See my newest pics for a side by side comparison. Ear bags are just as warm, softer (the Ear Mitts have a harder outer shell), smaller, thinner, lower profile, WAY cuter and DEFINITELY more comfortable for longer periods of time! Plus they come with the cute and useful little drawstring pouch for storage whereas the Ear Mitts don't come with anything. On top of all that the Ear Mitts are $10 more expensive than these. Hope this helps someone else!
