I'm giving this item 4 stars, because even though it requires a small effort to make it a good instrument, it's perfectly in line with its price range and arrived as described. A lot of other reviews complain about this Uke not being able to hold a tune. I found I had the same issues, but quickly identified the culprit. The tuning pegs not securely screwed in to the head and the provided strings are what you would find on a toy. But Strings are a consumable on a Uke, the strings that ship with an inexpensive instrument always lower quality and you should consider replacing them on most sub 80 dollar Ukes if you want it to sound good and tune well. The tuning pegs are an easy fix, just tighten the screws on the back of the head. Takes less than a minute. The strings however are going to cost about 5 dollars for decent strings and about 30 minutes to swap them out the first item you do it. With both of those fixes in place the ukulele is well worth the price if you have a young child looking to learn the instrument. I'd recommend just tossing some 5 dollar Aguila strings in your cart alongside it, and make sure you account for those when price comparing.
