The manufacturer recommends that you measure your foot and order the appropriate size from their sizing chart, rather than the size you usually wear. I followed that recommendation the first time by measuring my foot with a ruler and ordered a size 7. I was skeptical since that is a size and a half smaller than normal but I assumed they knew what they were talking about. When I got the shoes and tried them on it was like Cinderella's stepsisters with the glass slipper - no way the shoes would fit unless I lost some toes and had a much narrower foot. So I returned them and ordered an 8.5, my normal size, and they fit fine. They are still a bit tight in the heel but I'm hoping that will loosen the more I wear them. These shoes look really nice, I'm very pleased with their design and the price is very reasonable compared to other similar styles of shoes. Now that I know what size works for me, I may order a pair in blue. :-) I have been an active member of Amazon since 1996 and I rely heavily on reviews provided by others when making a decision as to whether or not to purchase an item -- whether that purchase is one that I am making through Amazon or another source (such as a local store).
