I fully understood that this was a pet gate before I bought it. However, I needed a gate that would keep our son out of dangerous areas while at the same time allowing our cat to easily pass through. The simple fix: Cut one of the pet door bars out with a reciprocating saw. It literally took about 10 seconds per door. Then I filed down any sharp pieces that were left and slapped on some white duct tape. Now my son can no longer get through the opening, but our cat can EASILY and quickly fit through it. Pros: - Well constructed. - Nice latch. - Versatility. Cons: - Gate opening is narrow. I'm 6'2" 165 pounds (thin) and I still wish the gate door was an inch or two wider. Also, you MUST use the locking feature when closing the gate (pushing lever under red tab). Our son is only 10 months old and can open the latch when it's not locked down. I've submitted a photo of: - Our son opening the latch when it's not locked. - Our son crawling through the gate before I modified it. - Our cat walking through the gate after I modified it. - The finished gate after modifications.
