People who complain about these fragrance oils don't seem to understand the chemical properties of alcohol vs oil. The alcohol in traditional cologne is going to distribute the essential oils used to scent colognes across your skin. As the alcohol is evaporating, it is going to interact with those essential oils differently than a carrier oil would and thereby release different smells. Once the alcohol evaporates, usually within 5-10 minutes of application, all you will be left with are essential oils. This is the comparison point, this is where you should be asking if the original oil and the QFO fragrance match up. Based on my experience comparing Terre D'Hermes, Spicebomb, and Dior Sauvage as compared to the originals, I would say they are as good or better than the originals IN THE DRYDOWN. Haven't smelled the original Tobacco Vanille or Green Irish Tweed but I love the QFO impression oils. That's good enough for me, because after all, are you looking to buy something based off of tricking people into thinking you have more money than you actually do or because you enjoy the smell? Edited to add: After telling a friend how much I loved the Terre D'Hermes she gave me a 1.5 ml sample of the Hermes Pure Parfum. It was maybe 3% more refined smelling than the oil, but the smell vanished within an hour. The QFO oil last a good 6+ hours.
