We bought two of these, in bronze, to install as reading lamps over / next to our bed. They were packed well and everything arrived intact. Installation is a bit tricky but not too bad, though I would strongly recommend throwing away the wall anchors that came with the unit and getting some better ones. I used the ones in the box, and with the drill bit they suggested, the anchors almost disappeared completely into the wall, and a result, it's not affixed to the wall securely enough, IMO.. I need to go back and reinstall with better anchors, but thought I would share this suggestion so that maybe someone doesn't make the same mistake. Also, I made the mistake of putting the first one directly in line with the wall outlet, and it ended up being too close to use both the cord covers - so I had to shorten it with a chop saw. On the 2nd installation, I put it to the side of the outlet, so if the cord cover was too long, it's not a big deal. Happy to clarify if that's confusing. Also, I couldn't find this info anywhere in the product description, but it takes a 50/100/150 watt bulb, so it can get as bright as you need to. In summary, these are good-looking lamps at a nice price, and that don't require the installation of any electrical fixtures. Make sure you pay careful attention to some details when you do the install, and get some better anchors, and it'll save you some grief.
