*NEW Update 1/02/17*Please read, COPTER FIX Addressing complaints
Okay so I read a few reviews that said the copter wouldn't work due to the cord. The directions aren't really clear concerning the functionality so I thought I would address this issue. It took me a day to figure out the problem.
1. The cord is useless and is only for test mode. Throw it away, it serves no other purpose.
The system works by charging the copter which they don't really tell you. How it works is there are batteries where the prongs go in at the green area of the batman house. Well in the copter in test mode there aren't any batteries in the copter end. In order to get it to work the cord used the batteries from that compartment to charge the copter enough to fly.
2. Change batteries in the green batman COMPARTMENT chances are they are dead.
3. Add batteries to the end of copter. Turn switch on a yellow light will flash at first. Let it sit on at least 5-10mins before usage.
I learned you must turn the copter switch to on and leave it on. For whatever reason, the motor inside must get a charge to work. It will not work instantly, if your cord was disconnected or you had dead batteries in green batman compartment, upon receiving.
4. Must twist base & hold- It works wirelessly but in order for it to work you must turn by hand or have a figure in the red figure base. It will only work on the batman red figure base that is above the green compartment. No other bases will work. Also, when you twist you must hold the base or figure and not let go or the copter will stop.
If it still won't work, there is a gray button by copter battery compartment this is the reset button. Turn copter off hold button down then turn on.
***UPDATE*** Okay so I got an email concerning the copters blades would spin but the copter wouldn't move at all. I really didn't have an answer to this till just today. Mine too stopped going 360*, I let it sit hoping it just needed a charge. The blades would turn then make a clicking noise and slow down. After, waiting I figured it couldn't be the batteries as I just added them 2 weeks ago and my son hardly used it. Well sure enough, I replaced the 4 "AA" batteries in the copter black hub and bam it worked instantly. If your copter blades move slowly or make clicking like noises but not turning in circles this is the fix. Interestingly I don't think this copter will fly on even slightly dead batteries. Make sure they are NEW! This is the only con I have encountered and even though it goes into sleep mode along with on/off switch; it must still be using the battery slowly draining it to keep the hub charged. Which explains why mine instantly turned on when I put new batteries in, unlike the first time when you had to wait to get a charge. For that reason I'm dropping this one star, you shouldn't have a toy using batteries when there not in use. I can see this becoming a huge issue for those who don't read reviews which will result in returns of a perfectly functional good toy in need of massive battery changes. HAVE LOTS OF SPARE BATTERIES ;)
***2nd UPDATE 12/26/16***
Hi everyone is your copter lights not coming on? I got this email below:
"We are having an issue where the yellow ready light doesn't turn on. It worked for about 15 minutes yesterday but today nothing. Ive switched all batteries again and tried doing a reset indicated in your instructions. Happen to have seen this one before??"
SOLUTION: This has happened to two people I know of so far. They both unscrewed the copter (the two screws on the end), left of off for a few minutes, and screwed it back on. I can confirm it worked perfectly after both did this, I do not know why or what it's causing it. If it works then doesn't work with lights off try this. Thanks!
***3rd UPDATE 1/02/17****
I had another email concerning "no lights" coming on. They had done all the above in my review and it still wouldn't work. I'm happy to report they have emailed me back with the fix. I will put what they sent in quotation marks.
Customers FIX: "I was super frustrated with this toy as was my cousin and his kids. The issue with mine was the power switch on the base with 4 batteries. I ditched batteries in both places 2 times before I realized the "on" switch is flimsy. I stuck a screw driver in to push it to "on" and the lights worked. So the issue with ours is the "On" switch not staying in the "On" position. Thanks for your help and I hope this helps other frustrated parents."
This toy is amazing for the value. I've paid much more for much less. PLEASE PLEASE, EMAIL ME if you are having issues or are confused; I will help you! My 3 year old got this for his birthday and I too was disappointed when it wouldn't work that day. I tinkered with it the following and it worked perfectly; still does two months later. The directions were useless in addressing this serious issue and functionality! In order the email me, click my name "Brooke" above in blue, click see more on my profile and at the end it will say "send an email". Click that and I will answer any questions or concerns. I cannot see any replies to this review as I'm always on the app (which currently doesn't have built in function to show replies). Thanks! :)
