Move over iRobot, here comes iLife
I've had several Roombas over the years. Each was an improvement over the other. Most recently I had a 550 series with the Thinking Cleaner wifi integration so I could control it via SmartThings. At that time I thought I had a pretty amazing setup, until I started researching iLife. Granted I came from an older model, so I can't compare this to the newer 800/900 series (except for that their pice and model number happened to coincide).
-This thing is super quiet. As in you hardly even know it's running.
-Very slim, easily cleans under my couch, nightstands, chairs.
-Does a great job cleaning on carpet, tile and hardwood. Even after doing a full house clean with our big expensive upright, this thing still found more dirt and pet hair.
-Crazy long battery life. Cleans for well over an hour where the other guys barely made 45 minutes.
-No wifi integration / no ability to add wifi is a negative for smarthome users. There are ways to work around this though.
-Lack of accessories / replacement parts (since this model was just released).
-Smallish bin appears to fill quickly and has to be tilted when removed to be emptied or it will spill all over.
-No US based support or toll free number. Have to call China international number for any assistance.
Overall for the price, I think it is a great device and should be seriously considered by anyone looking to get a robotic vacuum.
