Compared to our old cooling pad this one is great. Not only is it stylish, but it also cools better than our previous cooling pad! There are two dials in the back that you can adjust the fan speed with, or to turn it off entirely. One dial controls the top set of fans, and the other dial the bottom set of fans. There is also an additional USB port where the dials are. This pad does come with a small braided USB cable to plug into your laptop. The blue lights stay on, and only shut off if you shut down the fans.The pictures show how it looks plugged in, and with the fans on. The blue bar just above the cooling pad is from my laptop, but doesn't hurt that the color matches my laptop also. My family has been so impressed that we're purchasing another one.
