Don't know what all the hoopla over this cable is. Granted there are bad sellers who may sell incorrect products, but there are plenty of buyers who don't know what they are talking about, too. For example, the product is listed as MQGJ2AM/A, which is a real, authentic Apple product part number, but people are reporting it as fake because they are comparing it to the older MK0X2AM/A which is also a real, authentic Apple product. Model A1703 Part MQGJ2AM/A is the newer version of the cable than model A1656 Part MK0X2AM/A. Apple reduced the price of this cable and changed the part number to the new MQGJ2AM/A or A1703 in May 2018. You can web search and find this out. A1656 also only supported 29W USB-C power adapter, whereas A1703 supports 29W, 30W, 61W, and 87W USB-C power adapters, but fast charging is only supported from certain power adapters. So fast charging will depend on your power adapter paired with which cable. Then you have folks who are trying to fast charge from say their MBP or laptop and saying the cable is fake because it doesn't fast charge. Anyway, know what you are buying, because the product I got at least is the MQGJ2AM/A and it works on all accounts.
