These are fine for what they are, not sure what all those other reviewers were expecting.
At the current time (late Apr 2020), simple face covers are hard to find online. You can visit Etsy or some other handmade site and these will run you about $9 per mask. At around $14 for two, these are a fine substitute. Of course, these aren't medical masks, and for those expecting them to be, simply read the description. It's their expectations that need to be evaluated. The idea behind these is simple, to reduce the chances of the wearer from spreading any infection they may have when exhaling.
Short of putting on bandannas (which I've also purchased from Amazon), these are the better choice. Those "tube" bandannas don't stay on securely while turning your head to look around. I learned this the hard way while out shopping, they kept slipping off my nose. With these masks, they stay put thanks to the contoured fit and the ear straps.
Are these thin? Yes, that's what two layers of fabric will get you. If I'm stepping into a confined area with lots of people, I'll wear my N95 masks. But when I'm just out and about in more open space, then these will be fine.
As an adult, these fit fine and the straps around my ears have the same amount of tension as those disposable masks. I put one on my 10-year-old daughter and they were a bit loose, but stayed put over her nose and mouth. Amazon won't let me post pictures, but the country of origin (Vietnam) is clearly stated on the package as well.
