I love the Amazon ecosystem. I've been a Prime member for a while. I pre-ordered the original Kindle Fire as soon as it was announced. And I just bought and received the Kindle Fire HD (mainly because I truly enjoyed the 1st gen). However, I was thoroughly disappointed to learn that a wall charger was not included with the Fire HD *after* I received the HD. Yes, I understand that the Fire HD is sold at a cheap cost subsidized with lock-screen Special Offers. This cheap cost also means no additional hardware (like headphones) included in the package. But what bugs me the most is that this Wall Charger is offered at 9.99 *with the purchase of a Kindle Fire*. I pre-ordered my Fire HD and now I have to receive this charger at $10 additional dollars simply because I didn't include it in the original shipment. Simply, I'm disappointed. ********************** ETA: Amazon Customer Support resolved this issue. Very much appreciate that. The product itself cuts hours into minutes for charging the Kindle Fire HD. I'm very pleased with this device. I just wish it was more compact so as to not take up the entire socket.
