I am a hockey player, not a parent
Before I review this product, I just would like to say I have been a hockey player for now 20 years. I know hockey sticks very well as I was the generation that went from Wooden to One piece composite sticks.
So what are these sticks for?
They are for you child between the ages of 3-8 as a "STARTER" set. That means they can play floor hockey in your basement and they can shoot outside on gravel. As it is a flexible abs blade, that means it can withstand gravel without wearing down the blade to being thin. The shafts are supposed to be flexible as any hockey stick is supposed to be flexible. If you have ever watched a hockey game, or seen a player take a slap shot....the sticks bend almost like a question mark to get more power behind a shot. The term "STARTER", is supposed to get a child used to the bend of the stick.
What are these sticks are not for?
They are not for competitive hockey. If your child is going to start playing in a league....stay away from this product....your child will need much better equipment.
I gave this 4 stars because I love the product, I am still a kid at heart, and I like to take slap shots inside my apartment and if it can withstand me taking a slapshot, it should be able to be stable enough for your child. The only reason I left a star out is because the description is very general. They make it sound like you can use these sticks anywhere....well you cannot!
Only buy if you want your child to fool around your house or in the street, do not buy if this is the stick he will use in a competitive league
Also, shipping was outstanding, got this product in 2 days
