American Made and good as anything you ever bought
Man it's hard to compete with other reviewers, especially because I'm no expert. I'm just a normal guy who has been listening to music his whole life. As a younger man, I wanted to be cool, so I tried to sound knowledgeable about audio equipment. Those days we had turntables and records... right? Then 8 tracks and cassettes. I tried to follow the crowd and say CD would never sound as good as LP's... and then of course digital music came along. It's very helpful to me to read very erudite reviews of "cans"... I have no idea what it all means, really. I know what I like. Having said that, I did read a lot of reviews before investing more than 100 bucks on headphones. I get them free every time I upgrade my phone, so what do I know? Anyway, I finally settled on SR80's, and by the time it was my time, I had the 'e' to choose from. They are on my head now. Wow... let me tell you... I always test audio equipment by playing The Allman Brothers Band... The Fillmore Concerts... and I start with "Done Somebody Wrong". I have extremely eclectic taste, and listen to everything from Opera, New Age, Chanting, Jazz, Rock, Country... I love music and I have many moods... but my default is always the above. Being a city boy, I really want to start using salty language because that is how I describe things when I'm happy. I have never ever ever heard that song sound so good. Then 'Stormy Monday' started playing... Lord Have Mercy On Me..... even the clapping sounded good. In fact, closing my eyes, I was there. You can hear little nuances on the guitar when the opening riffs are being played on 'You Don't Love Me' that I have never heard before. In fact, I even heard a mistake! They were pretty stoned after all... at least I hope they were. I swear I could hear their feet scraping the floor. Crystal clear and balanced and exciting. These are new, so I will check back in, but man I am telling you... for a hundred bucks if you don't try these you are insane. Not to mention they are hand assembled in Brooklyn NY and made by a family owned American company. C'mon. Anyone who says American products aren't AWESOME have not tried these. That's all I got to say for now.
