"Digital Splitter + Coax hack will improve reception!" I am living in the East of Irvine, CA area where 45+miles away from the tower. After having Cox television service around 2years, I finally decide to cut the cable for saving the money. Long story short, antenna came with skinny wires compare to coax cable. When I connected to my HDTV default way (Antenna -> Amplifier -> TV), yes it works but need to stand up and hold antenna to right tower direction. Before I was returning this unit back to Amazon, I last tested with (Antenna -> 2 way splitter -> Coax cable -> Amplifier -> TV) combination. Voilà! it improve signal! I do not need to stand and hold but mount on wall worked pretty well. I guess tiny wire from the antenna has weakness of amplifier to boost the signal. After doing this I get local and major 120 of channels. Hope this helps!
