EDIT: My purchase was prior to the introduction of the "Soft Close" struts that are now available. I purchased the lid-stay struts which aren't intended to be used for soft closing. Cheers to Apexstone for introducing the Soft Close variety. Original: These work great, for their intended purpose. I intended to buy a cylinder to prevent a toychest lid from smashing my daughter's hand. These don't work that way! (Woops) That said, these do lift lids, cabinet doors, etc. quite well! Just don't expect them to prevent lids from closing. Check the video and you'll know what I mean.
