For Those Who Can Not Stand In The Kitchen...
~~~~~~~EDITED TO ADD SOME MEASUREMENTS~~~~~~~
Not including the seat back, only the seat portion...
At the lowest position it's 28 1/2 inches from floor to the top of the seat pad.
At the highest position it's 34 1/2 inches from the floor to the top of the seat pad
My cabinet is 34 1/2 but my Counter top makes it 36 inches in case that information is helpful.
If there is anything else I could measure please let me know. I bought this item with my own money. Boss is not paying me or gave me a discount for their item. My reviews are based off of my purchases and whether they can be good or if they can be harmful, I want to make sure I let people know.
First, my photo is not that great, the color is bad. The stool is a wonderful color that blends perfectly into my kitchen. I just wanted to show you what it looks like next to normal kitchen cabinets while positioned all of the way down in hopes it helps you decide if this will work or will not work for you.
I've been through a long journey trying to find something that would work for me. My back, basically I'm in need of surgery...and becuase of the unbearable pain I get every time I stand for more than 10 minutes, I have problems making meals and cleaning my kitchen. It became impossible.
The things I tried kept failing me. Bar stools, garage stools, desk chairs and so on. Stools became far too uncomfortable to sit on and with some of them I simply did not feel stable. Those with out wheels made it so I had to get off and on every time I needed to get to an area out of reach. You really get an idea of just how much you move around the kitchen to do some of the most basic things when you are in this situation.
I was extremely frustrated, to tears. I needed something tall enough, cushioned enough, something with wheels but that would not fly out from under me every time I got off and on it. I needed something that had enough sitting space, I needed to be able to have foot rests and for stability a back rest. That is a tall order.
That is when a friend thought of drafting stools and in my search I found this. It's a lot of money for me to throw at something that I could not look at in person. I am so grateful, I got lucky. This was worth every single penny and is absolutely everything I needed. I am now able to cook meals, clean my kitchen. I got some independence back and I can go back to eating those healthier meals that took too long for me to stand and make.
The cushion is super thick, it does not hurt anymore to get on and off nor for sitting for long periods of time. The back rest is comfortable and helps me feel more stable. The wheels concerned me since I am using this on a slick surface, not carpet. I must be careful but I have never had a problem. While it moves, I can pull myself from counter to counter it does not fly out from under me. The foot rests are not too wide. In other stools the foot rests were banging up my cabinets and dishwasher because they were built too wide or square.
I've posted a photo that shows the stool in my kitchen for those who might need this for this reason. The stool is all the way down at it's lowest point. That's exactly how I keep it as it's perfect for me in that position. Also, the color makes it blend into my kitchen beautifully. It does not stand out like the black one would have. The photo really doesn't do it justice, but I needed to quickly take a photo with my phone.
If you have any questions about my experience with this stool in my kitchen I am more than happy to help.
I hate to think of others who are having to give up on eating healthy because they experience unbearable pain like I do.
