CONTACT PAPER IS AN AWESOME DESIGN CHOICE!!!!
Love contact paper. Economical, removable, attractive, easy to work with....what more could you ask for?!! I will give you the most IMPORTANT tip you'll ever learn when applying any type of sticky/contact paper.....WATER, WATER AND MORE WATER!!!!! I know it sounds like it won't stick after applying water, but quite the contrary. Okay, after you've cut your dimensions, or leave it larger and trim-up later, peel the backing paper and spray/soak the sticky side of the contact paper. Then spray/soak the surface that you're applying the paper to. This technique allows for easy repositioning and is much more forgiving than dry application. When the paper is positioned correctly, start in the middle, work your way to the edges and smooth it out such as you would with wallpaper, I use a smooth plastic wallpaper spatula.....metal tends to rip the contact paper quite easily. When you have all your lines and bubbles out, wipe off the excess water and stand back and admire (pics attached). My purpose for this particular order of contact paper was to cover our four flights of stair risers. Each 2 pack covered 8 stair risers which were 7" H x 39 1/4" W.....almost has enough to do 2 more stair risers but the stairs were just too wide. You would probably get 10 risers if they were 38" W or less. I hope this information helps. Have a great day!!
