The instructions for this thing are horrendous..
Setting this thing up is difficult. I'll try to explain what we had to do to get ours working. My wife has an Iphone6+ and I have an Android. The setup is the same for either. 1. First charge the Go-tcha. We had one defective charging cable and at least one other reviewer experienced the same thing. I recommend plugging it in for a good 30 seconds. Then try lightly tapping the red circle on the front. If you get a battery charging screen, you're in business. 2. Now let it charge for an hour. 3. Your hour is up? Great! Now it's time to turn your phone's bluetooth on. Do not pair it. Why? Because you simply won't be able to. Move on to 4. 4. Go into Pokemon Go. Select/click your pokeball > Select/Click "Settings" > Select/Click "Pokemon Go Plus" > Scroll down to "Available Devices". 5. On your Go-tcha > lightly press the red circle/button (You should see "GO-TCHA" flash across the screen.) > Press that red circle/button 5 more times (you might have to do it 6 times as it resets quickly) to cycle through the settings (we'll go over them, don't worry)> Until you see a phone icon at the far end from the red circle/button (This isn't necessary in the future, once you're all setup). 6. In Pokemon Go > Below "Available Devices" you should see "Pokemon Go Plus" show up > Select/Click "Pokemon Go Plus". 7. In Pokemon Go > Close out of the menu. On your gameplay screen you should see a new icon below the compass in the upper right of your screen. That icon is for the Go-tcha. This is important: If that icon is red on top, with white on bottom and green in the center > You are good to go and are synched. About every hour the Go-tcha will unpair and you will just click that new icon (it will be blue and red) and cycle through your Go-tcha screens again to re-pair it. From what I understand this happens with the official Go Plus as well. >In this next section I will describe the screens starting from farthest from the red Button/Circle< >I am adding grabs from the manual of these screens in photos too< Setup of your Go-tcha after the initial "GO-TCHA" screen: The first screen you see is "Pokestop" over "Gears". An X means: Do not Automatically spin Pokestops. A ✓ means: Automatically spin Pokestops. The second screen you see is "Pokeball" over "Gears". An X means: Do not Automatically catch Pokemon. A ✓ means: Automatically catch Pokemon. The third screen you see is "?" over "Gears". An X means: Will not auto-catch NEW pokemon and you will need to double tap the red circle to catch any new pokemon (Or manually use n higher 'ultra or great' ball to give yourself a greater chance of capture. (thanks to Galidah for this info) A ✓ means: Automatically catch NEW TO YOU Pokemon using a regular red ball. The fourth screen you see is a "Vibrating Go-tcha". An X means: Vibrate alerts off. A ✓ means: Vibrate alerts on. >Vibrating eats up your battery, it's neat at first, but you'll end up turning this off< >How? When you reach a screen and you want to toggle the choice, hold down the red Button/Circle< Tips: -This will ONLY throw red/normal balls. -If you have it set to auto spin Pokestops and automatically catch Pokemon it will do the later first. -If you watch your screen you will see a little pink icon show up above each Pokestop and Pokemon that the Go-tcha is available to grab. -Wearing it on your wrist (and NOT in your pocket) insures that it doesn't inadvertently activate. -The Pokemon Go Plus icon will grey out (sorta blue and red instead of white and red) when it's inactive. When you wish to resync/activate your Go-tcha press the red button on the Go-tcha then the icon in Pokemon Go. -If your cell signal is bad, you will NOT connect and may bug you out. Wait until you have a good connection. -This charging cable works for the Go-tcha : BlueBeach Replacement Charger USB Charging cable for Xiaomi Mi Band 1 (Not Suitable for Mi Band 2) -This For xiaomi Accessiory,Kshion Color Silicone Rubber Metal Clip Cover Skin Case for xiaomi Bracelet Smart Wrist Band (Black) lets you wear the Go-tcha as a sidecar on a watch. The end at the top is magnetic and attaches to itself after I put it around my watchband. Troubleshooting: 1. I find that if I fail to connect to my android device, closing PoGo and reopening it will allow it to connect. 2. If you are at wits end try unpairing it completely and repair it. Do this by unpairing it in PoGo (hit the eject ^ in Plus settings), and in Bluetooth settings in your phone settings, and on the Go-tcha by going to the screen with the phone icon and hold down the button until an x appears instead of the check. Then go through repairing the device. That's about it. I hope I helped. We both love it. Getting a dud charging cable sucks and hopefully that won't happen to you. My son has the Official Plus and he loves it. He actually likes that he can choose to throw a different ball if he wants to. He was notorious for throwing a 100 balls at a Rattata. You can set this up the same way and use the button instead of automating it all. However, I think the lack of a click from the button makes the Official one a better choice for that.
