I have had this product for more than 8 years now. So let's say I have some history with this thing.... I have saved hours and hours of cleaning with 409 because of this product, which I didn't know existed until someone gave me this, right around 2006. In all that time... 1. The metal screen has not come off 2. It remains easily cleanable 3. Survived dozens of dishwashing machine washings My pics show how usable this is, even after 8 years. It's also caused me to have to buy many more for people who saw this for the first time at my house. Now the warning: Kids tend to grab this thing (like 2-4 year olds) and you cannot tell it is hot. It does not turn red or anything when it's hot, and my son grabbed it for about 2 seconds and his hand blistered like crazy. It was quite painful for him. So keep it out of the reach of little kids!
