So far so good...3Yr Update
So far so good...I own a 2016 Audi Q5 and an iPhone 6 with iOS 10. Like other Audi owners, we are disappointed Audi doesn't have the capability for drivers to connect their music through a USB port in the arm rest or connect via Bluetooth. We can use the phone via Audi's Bluetooth, but not music Bluetooth capable.
I received the original MMI Cable as a gift from the dealer and it died after 3 months, which led me to buy this Bluetooth cable on Amazon. Shipping was not great. After 5 days since I ordered the decive, my order still said "preparing for shipment." It wasn't until I contacted the seller that all of a sudden my order finally changed to "product has shipped" and they responded by blaming Amazon.
Anyways, my device finally arrived today and I plugged it in the Audi Music Interface compartment located in the glove box. I waited for my iPhone to locate the Bluetooth Tune2Air and I plugged in the code provided with the directions. After a few minutes, my music was playing when I switched to Media on my Audi's control center. The downside is, it won't display the music that is playing, but who cares. I'm playing my music via Bluetooth!! I leave the ViseeO plugged into my glove box and I have my iPhone next to me and it immediately recognizes it and I play my music whether using iHeart Radio app, Pandora, or via my iTunes. My phone Bluetooth isn't affected at all either. I had a family member call me while I was in the car playing my Pandora and the music was interrupted with the phone call and when I finished with the call, my music played where it left off with no issue. It also worked well when I made a phone call.
3 Years Later Update:
I now have traded my car for a 2019 Audi Q5 but wanted to give potential buyers of this device my experience. In the three years I had this device, I’ve had to plug and unplug it several times as no music was playing. Once I did that it would worked fine. The biggest downfall is, it’s Tune2Air Bluetooth connection was so strong it will override other Bluetooth connections. So if my car was off and I was on a phone call and opened my car to get something, my phone call will automatically switch to its Bluetooth and I wouldn’t hear the person on the line. Or if I was using my Beats headphone but opened my car, it would immediately switch over to the Tune2Air Bluetooth. It was highly annoying to wrestle with the Tune2Air Bluetooth with other Bluetooths you wanted. So as a special gift I purposely left the device in the glove box for the next owner. Enjoy!
