This is an extract, NOT a syrup.
I bought this from a local store and wanted more. I was surprised to find all the negative reviews here. I think the problem is that people are dumping it straight into coffee and expecting it to do the job of a hazelnut syrup, like Torani. It's NOT a syrup. It's an EXTRACT. Extracts use alcohol to dissolve and convey aromatic substances to your nose, producing flavor. They're meant to be mixed with sugars or fats, as in candies or baked goods. If you dump them straight into a hot liquid like coffee, all of the flavor will immediately evaporate along with the alcohol. If you want hazelnut flavoring for your coffee, use the extract to make your own flavored creamer or coffee syrup and add THAT to your coffee. That's what this product is intended for.
