A healing touch in today's unkind world.
If you don’t cry at least once during this film, you must not have a heart. And Mr. Rogers would love you anyway. And that is the magic of Mr. Rogers. The director of the film said they wanted to make this about the message and ideas of Fred Rogers more than about his life story, and that was a brilliant approach that works for this movie. There were moments that were so painfully touching I almost had to look away, yet they are SO simple. Maybe it’s nostalgia (which I am fine with), maybe it’s that some of us are “overly sensitive,” maybe it’s our generation, but an entire theatre was in tears when I saw it. I don’t want a world full of Mr. Rogers, but I sure as heck am grateful there was at least one!
