This is a CDG and it will show lyrics on your TV via a karaoke machine just as expected. Anyone who expected the lyrics to show on a computer screen will be disappointed. It is not designed to show lyrics on a computer screen. It is designed to be operated via a karaoke machine connected to a tv. The entire karaoke experience includes microphones and the lyrics being fed to you with background music to help you sing the song. Expecting all of that to happen on a computer screen and then to rate the product as poor because of your misunderstanding, is unfair.
