Are you Warm, Neutral, or Cool? This product offers an outstanding range of shades at an affordable price!
This product is outstanding because: -there are a huge number of different shades (distinguished by cool, warm, or neutral), which guarantees that you'll find the perfect one for you. -it is extremely affordable and easy to find, because it is carried at stores like WalMart. -it is smooth and does not feel heavy on the skin. It offers an amount of coverage on the lighter side, so it will be subtle and unnoticeable for those of us that just want a nice everyday makeup and don't want to look really made-up. When picking out the shade that is right for you, it is very important to first determine your skin undertone. Warm skin tones look best in gold jewelry, while cool tones look best in silver. Warms look best in orange-y yellowy colors and ivory or cream whites, while cools look best in blues, pinker pinks, pastel colors, and pure whites. Neutrals can pretty much wear every color. Cool and warm skin tone does not necessarily correspond to light and dark skinned people; in other words, if you're super pale, you could be either a warm or a cool (although really pale people tend to be cools). I read somewhere that if you're a very dark-skinned African American you're most likely cool, whereas not-so-dark African Americans are usually warm. I've heard that cool skin tones are generally more common. Blue/pink undertones are cool, while yellow undertones are warm. Look at the insides of your wrists/forearms. Do your veins appear more blue or green? If they're more blue, you're a cool; if they're more green, you're a warm. If there are some of both, you might be a neutral. If you burn easily in the sun (and don't tan easily), you're cool. If you tan easily (and don't burn easily), you're warm. Determining your skin tone is very important, not just for choosing a foundation but for choosing all your makeup (for example, cools should not wear orange-y pink or coral lipstick/blush, but should wear more pink pinks). Furthermore, it is important for determining what colors to choose for your clothing. Still not sure what you are? The great thing about this product is that if you buy it in a store, they'll have this little plastic thing with all the shades, which you can hold near (not directly on) your wrist. Whichever shade disappears, that's your color. Amazon does not have a list of the different shades with their letter/number name, so here you go: Warm: W1 - Porcelain W2 - Light Ivory W3 - Nude Beige W4 - Natural Beige W5 - Sand Beige W6 - Sun Beige W7 - Caramel Beige W8 - Creme Cafe Neutral: N1 - Soft Ivory N2 - Classic Ivory N3 - Natural Buff N4 - Buff Beige N5 - True Beige N6 - Honey Beige N7 - Classic Tan N8 - Cappuccino Cool: C1 - Alabaster C2 - Natural Ivory C3 - Creamy Natural C4 - Shell Beige C5 - Classic Beige C6 - Soft Sable C7 - Nut Brown C8 - Cocoa Hope this review helps!
