This Cart Survived German Cobblestone Streets
Ok, this was harder than buying towels online. So many dang conflicting reviews! I'm stationed overseas in Germany for 9 months. We aren't allowed to have a car, so I depend entirely on the train. The first two months of trying to lug my groceries around was miserable, so I went looking for an old lady buggy. I read lots of negative reviews that this cart fell apart on the first use and spilled groceries all over the curb, so I was EXTREMELY nervous about tugging it over the cobblestone streets, train tracks, stairs, etc. here in Germany.
On my first trip with my buggy, I walked 13,000 steps. Over 5 miles. Rode the train, folded it up and shoved it in the trunk of a taxi, drug it through snow and slush. I filled it with 6, 1.5 liter bottles of water, a gallon of vinegar, and 2 big bags of groceries. It was HEAVY... and it worked like a damn champ. The TWO things I wish I'd done differently was to get the wheels made for stairs... I could barely get this thing up the stairs of the train station I had it so loaded down, and to get one with the little basket on the back to carry my pocketbook and phone and stuff.
As for assembly, that's almost as afterthought. Unfold it, put the axle through and snap the wheels on. It couldn't be easier. I also got the Wellmax liner, and I'm a little disappointed by the velcro. It came undone easily and the lid didn't like to stay closed properly. Other than that it's a very rugged bag and stood up to the rain and snow on my grocery quest.
