We have a cat, a dog and three large macaws. So, there's a LOT of hair and feather dust in our home. And, it's pretty much wall to wall carpet throughout. Not our choice, but rippin' it all out and putting in flooring ain't gonna happen soon. This vacuum DOES a very good job! It can be a bit awkward to maneuver sometimes, but our last vacuum had a swivel, so we got spoiled. By and large, this one does a good job close to walls and fits under things pretty well. The front is not too high, and it does seem to pick up very close to the leading edge of the floor part. Attachments are OK. Not great, but OK. Of course, the so-called "power brush," by whatever name, doesn't work for beans. None I've ever had has worked as advertised, so no surprise. The dusting brush and crevice tool are adequate, though. If you want to do high vacuuming, you have to remove part of the handle. Not a big deal, but as with all vacuums with these kinds of hoses, that "10 feet of reach" they all claim is a joke. The suction keeps the hose from extending much more than maybe four or five feet, if you really tug on it. But, the suction IS quite good! The tank holds quite a bit and you can see when it's getting full. Emptying the receptacle is a breeze, one of the easier I've dealt with over the years. The filter is easy to remove and clean, as well. Overall, this is a good product. I do recommend it. I especially appreciate the retractable power cord! That was the clincher when I bought this unit. I really dislike dangly power cords and it seems that vacuums nowadays don't give you a very secure way to wrap the cord. So, having this feature is what made this purchase much more attractive. Hope this helps with your decision. I try to be as honest as possible. This unit has impressed me with its power and ease of use, so, yeah, I think it's a good buy.
