Too good to be true?
OK, I bought this on a lark since I have hereditary high blood pressure. Doctor put me on Lisinopril, which does seem to help a little and is generic and affordable, but lately my pressure had been creeping up even with the meds and I wanted to see if I could find other things besides the medicine.
I have tried both beet pills and hibiscus pills, and regularly started making smoothies with the Power Beets powder, but they didn't seem to have an effect. I bought this product not expecting anything. Like some of the other reviewers I found them awfully sweet and hoped this wouldn't cause problems, but after about a week I'm noticing that I am getting lower pressure readings. I'm in awe because nothing else worked! And it's so easy to use. The flavor is sweet but not unpleasant. It does have a bit of graininess at the end.
Note that those other supplements might work great for you; in my time I've figured out that medicine is not always a "one size fits all" and each of us is different and what works for one body chemistry may not work for another. You just have to experiment and then hope people are writing honest reviews. But I'm so thankful that something finally helped. My only knock on SuperBeets is that $35 for a bag seems kind of pricey; but that works out to about a dollar a day (60 chews in a bag, serving is two chews per day). Blood pressure is such a funky part of health but it's important. Mine fluctuates a lot depending on what I'm doing and a buck a day to improve it...maybe not too bad when nothing else has worked.
I'm going to gradually phase out the other beet and hibiscus supplements and see if the SuperBeets is able to sustain this on its own and I'll post an update later.
Update 07-Feb-2023: Although these seemed to help, my blood pressure was staying high overall. I went to a cardiologist and he added Amlodipine to my prescriptions. That's helped a lot. I am not sure how much the SuperBeets affected the blood pressure, but even before I took the Amlodipine, I did feel my body processed oxygen a little better with the chews. I could run a little better at the gym.
So, yes, I still recommend these, but for serious blood pressure issues, see your doctor. I don't like having to add more medicine to my prescriptions, but when you're dealing with stuff that even diet and exercise aren't doing enough for, sometimes you have to deal with it.
