Fluffy, beautiful stretches of color
Lion Brand is my favorite 'go-to,' cheap (but pretty and functional) yarn. I bought 4 skeins of this yarn in Glacier Bay to make the Entrelac Scarf pattern on their website. It turned out beautifully. After blocking, the yarn became very soft. The long strands of color work perfectly for entrelac. Knit on size 9 needles, the scarf is also airy, fluffy, and almost plush. I wear it constantly, and it has easily become my new favorite scarf. There is one drawback: this yarn sticks to itself like a magnet. Within the first few rows of knitting, I screwed up and had to rip back. I ripped no differently than I do with any other yarn, but this yarn stuck to itself and resulted in a huge knotty, tangled mess that I had to throw away. Thankfully, I had not gotten too far into the project at that point. Afterwards, whenever I had to rip back, I did so somewhat gingerly, tugging more gently and slowly. Problem solved, and I encountered no more tangles. I uploaded two pics of the scarf in the shared images above, so you can see how the yarn works up if you've never used it before. Try it; you'll love it! :)
