Not all that bad....
I got this phone in order to test switching to Sprint full time after being fed up with Verizon's outrageous prices. I was looking for a cheap phone to primarily test the network, but I figured I could provide a review for someone that may be looking to actually use the phone as a daily driver. So, here goes.
First and foremost, this is a budget phone. It does not have all the bells and whistles that major flagship phones have. However, with that being said, it really isn't that bad.
Cons:
-No brightness sensor. It seems like this isn't that big of a deal, but it can be fairly annoying.
-No haptic feedback on bottom buttons. This one is a little nit picky, but it was something I was wondering about.
- Will most likely remain on Android 4.4.4. Once again, not necessarily a bad thing, but don't expect it to be updated.
-Typing. The predictive text can be a little quarky at times.
- Resolution. If you are a everyday phone user that isn't looking for super high quality, don't even worry about this. My Verizon phone is a Note 3 and when side by side, it is noticeable. However, I watched a few minutes of something I know streams in high definition on Netflix, and it honestly looked pretty darn good.
Pros:
-Battery. Not having all the bells and whistles means not having to power them all. I have put it through very heavy usage, and it blows the note 3 out of the water.
-Price. This had to be said. I paid $80 for a fairly decent phone that was brand new. Ridiculous!
-Touchwiz. If you are a fan of Samsung's touchwiz, then you'll feel right at home. I, personally, like it. It's a lighter version than what is on the more expensive phones.
-Speaker. No, it isn't stereo or anything, but it is plenty loud to hear across the room just fine.
Overall, a decent phone given the insanely low price. Whether you are getting this phone to be a back up or for daily use, I don't think you'll be disappointed.
