helps if you have a partner, and a game plan.
Second time we used it, we planned our attack out thoroughly and it went quite well. We put the bag on the empty kitchen table with the back zipper and velcro open. I then scooped up the cat who was sitting warily at my feet. He's 18 pounds of 'don't touch my paws!!!' I held him with his tail under him, and slid his back end in first, then my partner pulled the sides up around him and started to do up the neck velcro while I started to work on the zipper. This allowed us to get the tail in with minimal fighting. Once he was in the bag he mostly was resigned to his fate. We use a hand towel over his face to avoid his knowing where we are and what's coming next. Without his ability to squirm like an eel, the towel stays on quite nicely and we just flip the whole cat on the table to get to the other side's claws.
