Simple tests confirm this is the real stuff.
I haven't had a chance to try it, so I don't know well it works. But I am a chemical engineer and I did do some simple tests to verify its purity. First, I cooled it down to 65F to see if it would freeze. It didn't. Then I cooled it down below 60F and it froze suddenly. This tells me that the liquid had become supercooled and required a little nucleation before it could freeze. This is not unusual for pure chemicals stored in a smooth glass jar, and explains why it didn't freeze at 65 F. I allowed it to warm back up a little, and it began to melt around 65 F just as it should. After that, I measured the density. First, I calibrated my measurements using pure water @ 70F. Then I measured the density of the DMSO as 1.095 +/- 0.01 g/mL @ 25C (77F), which is within the margin of error of the published density of 1.100 g/mL. I can't test for trace impurities, but these simple tests show at least that it has not been diluted. I'll update this review once I have had a chance to try it (arthritis and chronic autoimmune disease).
