After cleaning out my files archive, I had a large stack of old personal documents that I needed to shred. I opted for a cross-cut shredder to hopefully minimize the chance that any identifying information would still be readable. I was adequately satisfied with the speed and ease this shredder was able to chew up my old financial documents and credit cards. I even tested an old CD and it sliced it up without a hassle. After a little over a months use, I find myself using this shredder on a weekly basis to shred up those dumb offers credit card companies send you, and it works well enough. So far I haven't had any jams or anything, but my usage is light. However, one complaint I have is that for whatever reason, possibly because of where I store my shredder (under my desk, subject to me kicking it), when I go to use it, I find the "misalignment" light is on, requiring me to remove the shredder from the basket and then place it back on. Its not a big hassle, though, and it always functions when I need it to work. Overall I'm satisfied with the quality of this shredder and I'm glad amazon offers quality products at affordable prices.
